Our fully air-dried, stable state 145mm European Oak Decking has been carefully machined to a 25mm depth to not only maintain the character that English oak provides, but to ensure serious solidity to an already beautiful, resilient domestic hardwood.
Machined from character grade oak, you may experience knots, irregular grain and possibly a little sapwood - this all adds to the character of the board and gives that rustic English oak feel!
Oak being the most durable of European hardwoods, your decking will require no treatment once laid, however most customers choose to apply a coat of decking oil to prolong the initial colour and the character of the oak. If not treated, it will become a beautiful silver/grey colour once weathered. Taking good care of wood in exterior applications is of paramount importance as it not only provides protection to your decking but it will also enhance its natural beauty and feel. By protecting it from the elements you'll also be increasing its resistance against rot, decay and insect attack. UK Timber works closely with the Treatex brand to provide you with a range of products that offer great value for money without compromising on effectiveness or quality.
Your decking boards can be either machined with a bevelled edge non-slip profile or planed smooth for a more contemporary effect, please make a note of your chosen finish with your order, if no preference is stated then a profiled finish will be supplied!
For those finishing touches, we also stock spindles, hand and base rails and ready made complete panels for speed and ease of fitting.
